Sometimes She Cries

Once there was...an angel who..
could fly on broken wings
And soar above...the pain and hurt..
to what tomorrow brings
She cast her light...upon the ones...
who cast no light at all
An angel with...a soul to give...
but sometimes angels fall

And sometimes the night takes her away...
sometimes her fears leave her nothing to say
sometimes the light disappears from her eyes..
sometimes she cries..

Once she thought...her precious dreams..
someday would all come true
Now she knows...the bitter sting...
of dreams that never do
She's had her fill...of promises...
that somehow turn to lies
upon a cross...of faith long lost...
an angels crucified...
