Samina's pointless ditties

I figured it would be simpler to just post all my writings in one topic, so that I didn't have a million of them running around. Hope you all don't mind.



All the pretty people with all their pretty toys
All the pretty girls breaking all the pretty boys
And all the pretty lies sparkling in the sun
Guess what angel, I'm done.

Your pretty face gave me music and words
But the ugliness inside hid all your hurt
Poems and softly whispered tender things
I loved the rush and ecstasy it brings
But after all's said and done
I was just a distraction, a six-month fling

All the pretty ones before you broke you in two
And when I got you, I got your image along with you
The pretty lie that you lived to keep going on
And the pretty words you told, about her being gone
She never left, the pretty who broke you the most
Cracked your image and laughed, her favorite boast
That she was the one who hurt you, the one who destroyed
Such a pretty life, such a pretty boy

Crystalline strands sparkling in the light
Shattered with raised voices and fist fights
All your lies lying broken in the dust
I wonder what finally made them all crack and fade
I wonder if they hadn't, would I have stayed?

All the pretty girls break all the pretty boys
And all their left with are their empty toys
No love, no pleasure, only pain
Congratulations, girls, for ruining lives over and over again
And off you go to go destroy another in the name of "love"
And all the girls who don't destroy are just waiting for it to stop
They're waiting for you to stop taking off your pants and your top
They're waiting for you to finally realize what you do
And most of all, they're waiting for someone to say "I love you."

So here's to all the pretty broken girls and boys
Whether by choice or by another's hand
Here's to all who are someone else's toy
And unable to stand
Here's to the crystal lies that hang us from another's fingertips
And to the lies that fall from their lips
Here's to those who just dream of happiness and love
To those who want to just lay with a lover and stare at the stars above
And here's to you, angel, my saving grace
I still love you, even if you lied to my face.
